How to Download IGNOU Study Material?

The procedure to download the study material is very simple.

Go to the IGNOU Study Material download page: Click Here
The IGNOU Study Materials/Books are categorized by course type: Masters Degree, Bachelors Degree, Post-Graduate Diploma, Diploma, Certificate Courses, etc. Select the option applicable to you.
Find your program in the list and click on it. You will be taken to the download page for the course. There you can click on the individual files to download.

Remember:

You don’t have to pay any fees. All materials are available free of cost.
You can download any book as many times as you want.
You can download it from anywhere.

How can I track the status of my IGNOU study material hard-copy/books?

You can check the status of your study material at this link: https://gradecard.ignou.ac.in/mpddstatus/Jul23/StudentMaterialStatus.aspx
To check the delivery status, copy the consignment number from the above link and paste it in the relevant box in the following link: https://www.indiapost.gov.in/_layouts/15/dop.portal.tracking/trackconsignment.aspx. This will tell you where it has reached. You can then contact or visit the post office or the venue where the study material/books are.

What are the benefits of using IGNOU study material soft-copy?

IGNOU offers a 15% fee discount to those students who choose to get soft copy of IGNOU Study Material.
You can easily do Ctrl F to find any topic. This is very useful while doing assignments.

Is the Study Material really FREE?

Answer

Yes, as of now, the study material is provided free of cost by the University. Even those who have opted for hard copies can download and use it.

Can I use IGNOU Study Material if I am not a IGNOU Student?

Yes, anyone anywhere in the world can download and use the IGNOU Study Materials. These are commonly used by students preparing for various competitive exams in India such as UPSC, GPSC, etc. These are also used by students of foreign universities where either good quality books are not easily available or very expensive.
